A glimpse into my journal Jan to Feb 20, 2006

Dear all,

Thank you for keeping in touch. Sorry for not being able to reply to you timely and personally. Let me now lead you back to Jan 2006…

Jan 9 - My parents, sis Mit and her son Matt arrived from Muar.

10 - Some 50 pax were gathered at the poolside for a party to celebrate Fred’s 59th bday. Dad was a little unwell.

11 - Dad complained of tummy upset. Took dad to a gp. Was told nothing to do with the heart.

13 - While Fred n I were heading for airport (to Shanghai to check out a job offer for Fred), dad was taken to the NUH by Willy, Bob and Mit. Dad was found to have suffered a cardiac attack of the lower part of his heart.

19 - Dad was discharged with no treatment done coz the muscles around his heart were weak. He was sent back to Muar home by ambulance for further recuperation and rest. I was relieved when we reached home safely.

20 - Dad suffered another heart attack early in the morning and was admitted to Muar Specialist hospital.

22 - Dad passed away peacefully after all his children had arrived to bid farewell (for now).

24 - Dad was buried.

28 to 31 - In Muar for CNY. And missing dad.

Feb 4 - Was accepted by Executive Counselling & Training Academy to do a 6- mth Grad Dip in Professional Counselling.

7 - Started my first insertion class for Grad Dip.

8 - Completed my Dip in Counselling Psychology.

15 - Mum, Mit and Matt arrived from Muar. My heart longed for dad.

16 - Shanghai’s job offer has been put on hold. God knows best!

17 - Took mum to Johor Specialist Hospital for a thorough check of her heart condition. Report was favourable. We spent the rest of the day meeting up with Fred’s eldest sis, mum’s cousin and sis Asmawati. In the evening we attended Appreciation Dinner at Pulai Springs Golf Resort hosted by uncle Jui Leng and co. We were well-fed n entertained. Dad would have enjoyed the occasion too.

19 - Mit and Matt returned to Batam. Mum left for Melbourne to be with sis Janet & family till end April.

The Lord has been very gracious towards me and my family. He has time and again proved His unfailing love and faithfulness towards His people. His mercy endures forever! Yes, He knows best!
